Our County Chapters

KAWT County Chapters bring our mission to life at the grassroots level. Led by passionate local volunteers, each chapter creates opportunities, offers support, and organizes activities that empower women in tourism across Kenya.

These chapters extend KAWT’s impact beyond Nairobi, ensuring women in every region have access to our programs, training, and networks.

Each chapter tailors its initiatives to meet the unique needs of its local tourism sector—while staying true to our national vision of empowerment and equality.

We currently have active chapters in several counties and are steadily expanding to reach even more communities nationwide.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about KAWT membership.

1

How do I join a KAWT chapter in my county?

To join a KAWT chapter, you need to complete a membership application and select your county on the main registration form after selecting your country.

2

What are the benefits of joining a local chapter?

Chapter members enjoy localized networking opportunities, access to county-specific training programs, representation in local tourism forums, and the chance to participate in community initiatives.

3

How often do chapters meet?

Most chapters hold monthly meetings for members, though the frequency may vary. Chapters also organize various events, workshops, and activities throughout the year.

4

Can I be a member of multiple chapters?

While your primary membership is with one chapter (typically in your county of residence or work), KAWT members are welcome to attend events and activities of other chapters.

5

What is the relationship between chapters and the national office?

Chapters operate under the guidance of the national office but have autonomy to develop programs that address local needs. The national office provides support, resources, and ensures alignment with KAWT’s overall mission.

My county doesn’t have a KAWT chapter. What are my options?

You can join the nearest chapter or the Nairobi chapter. New chapters can only be approved by an Annual General Meeting (AGM).
